In the 2013 film launching Henry Cavill as Superman , he kills Michael Shannon ’s Zod toward the end of the film . Three years after , Ben Affleck ’s Batman ruthlessly kill a batch of henchmen . These creative liberties did n’t bode well with some comic record book fan as they pointed out that these contradict how these submarine have been portrayed in print for tenner .
It ’s understandable that longtime amusing book readers may be more or less repulsed by Snyder ’s choices in his flick , specially if the original treatment of these characters had a huge impact in their lives . But at the same time , he ca n’t be faulted for attempting to develop these Hero and come up with film that are more complex than the straight spoiled guy cable vs. good guys dynamic . And at this point in the evolution of the comic record book pic category , it ’s about time that people get smart films .
