Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Holy cow there ’s a lot of … angst ? anger ? vexation ? wall the latest summation to theStar Warssaga : The Clone Wars . Me , I ’m indifferent . I ’m not a hugeStar Warsfan ( although I was when the first three moving-picture show were let go of for the first time ) and I think that George Lucas has go the franchise into the ground and it ’s all about :

1 . optic Effects

2 . Merchandising

3 . Money ( see # 2 )

The Clone Warstakes position betweenStar Warsepisodes 2 & 3 , covering the most acute part of the fabled " Clone Wars " first name by Obi - Wan Kenobi way back in 1977 in the originalStar Warsfilm . Therefore we have Anakin Skywalker ( designate to become Darth Vader ) still playing the hero and a untested Obi - Wan Kenobi no longer teaching Anakin but fighting side by side with him .

I really wo n’t get into the story too much . It essentially consists of a whole lot of battle sequences , one after the other - all very loud and very " busy " as far as what ’s live on . The chief patch require Anakin get to deliver the infant son of Jabba the Hut . Yes , you hear right . Jabba the Hut is a loving daddy .

Go figure .

Of naturally we have Count Dooku in the premix , play one side against the other and lead astray Jabba the Hut into thinking that the Jedi have kidnapped his son when in fact he is the one behind it .

have ’s just cut to the chase , shall we ?

The Clone Wars review

Star Wars: The Clone Wars is an animated film set between Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. It follows Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Ahsoka Tano as they navigate new challenges and conflicts during the tumultuous Clone Wars. Directed by Dave Filoni, the film introduces various characters and sets the stage for the subsequent television series of the same name.

What’s good:

The brio , once you get used to the panache of the type , is fantabulous . There is nothing 2nd about this , with sequences filmed in a very cinematic manner in regards to television camera angles and movement . Hayden Christensen did NOT return to supply the vox of Anakin , and that my Friend , is a benediction . Samuel L. Jackson and Christopher Lee returned to furnish the voices of their character , and having Lee voice Dooku is a good thing .

Obi - Wan and Anakin in The Clone war

This may sound odd , but with the guidance that George Lucas has shoot the series , it actually sour better as a 100 % CGI animate film . As it was with Episodes I , II & II , they were 90 % CGI anyway . The hot actors actually looked out of billet in those films . At least here everything " match . "

Obi-Wan and Anakin in The Clone Wars

Finally , it ’s really an betterment over the three prequel films .

What’s bad:

Hoo boy … where to start . How about the elemental issue … Why is this necessary ? We already had an excellent 2D reading ofThe Clone Warscreated by Genndy Tartakovsky that was extremely stylized and very well done . This one is fancier , with 3D CGI and a more expansive story that will be told ( the film is an entry to an animated serial that will race on Cartoon connection as well this Fall ) , but what is the point? We already know how the report will end !

So why was that not an issue with the former version of The Clone Wars?Because it was broadcast in between Episodes 2 & 3 of the hot action picture show . Wedidn’t knowhow it would plow out , and it was a bonud story to aid fill in what fall out during the break . But now , the total story has been told , we recognise the conclusion , and I do n’t really see the point .

Beyond that you ’ll be annoyed within seconds of the plastic film starting as Lucas has done away with the traditional " crawl " which brings you up to f number as it fade aside into space . What did he replace it with ? A voiceover that go like it was recorded by some cheesy game show host , identify events that led up to the start of the movie . I kid you not .

What else ? How about an uber - annoying " tween " distaff Padawan that is placed under Anakin ’s tutelage ? This fibre does n’t act like a Jedi in training , she roleplay like a distinctive Junior High student that ’s used to being spoiled by her parents . VERY annoying ( she in reality even annoyed the heck out of my own 12 year former daughter ) . I also found her kind of creepy as equate to the senior character she looked like she was 10 , but had one C - cup breast that were housed in a tube top . Very appropriate for engagement .

spate of snarky repartee ensues between her and Anakin and it ’s like fingernails on a chalkboard .

Then we have Jabba the Hut ’s comrade ( I guess ) . I ’m a bit changeable because he sound like either Truman Capote or just plain female ( another detail that confused and annoyed my daughter ) . Also making an appearance was Padme in a on the face of it atomizer - paint on costume . It would n’t intercept me so much if this was anime targeted at a more or less older crew but the target is really little tiddler . The audience was chock full of precious little one running around with light sabre and Darth Vader helmet .

I ’ll admit that by the time I was about 2/3 into the photographic film , I actually pop to enjoy the ride a little bit ( and that ’s why I rated it as mellow as I did ) , but overall I intend fan are go to be disappoint .

Overall it was like watching a pyrotechnic display : A lot of auditory sensation and vehemence , but not much center .
