As 2008 approaches its end and we conceive back on all the large film of the yr , we must take meter to look forrader at what is to add up . That is incisively what we will do now - And I do n’t practice the term “ we ” thinly as I enlisted the help of the entireScreen Rantteam to facilitate me share with you our single and corporate thoughts of what movies to take care forth to in 2009 .

We begin the tradition last year with themost anticipated picture of 2008 , and here ’s your bright , glistening 2009 variant !

This was not an well-fixed task to say the least . While there are several obvious big - name titles come out next year , there are also 765 moving-picture show plan to debut next class in total ( concord toMovieweb ) . Narrowing that down to just ten is not the easiest of task peculiarly when sealed films have shared little info with us so far ( wink wink nudge poke at to James Cameron’sAvatar ) .

Robin Curtis and Kirstie Alley as Lt. Saavik in Star Trek.

Using all of our single option and an elaborated scoring system of rules that took 100 of time of day to deliver its results ( OK , I made up that last bit ) , I summed up and reckon our overall most anticipated movie of 2009 inclination for theScreen Rantteam .

Monsters vs. Aliens

The notorious life of gangster John Dillinger brought to the big screen .

New Star Trek movie

To start , I ’ll share my Top 10 most anticipated for next year and give a picayune account of my choices :

1.Watchmen

2.X - Men Origins : Wolverine

Watchmen movie

3.Star Trek

4.Transformers : retaliation of the Fallen

5.Inglourious Basterds

G.I. Joe movie

6.Terminator redemption

7.Avatar

8.Public foe

The Road movie

9.The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus

10.G.I. Joe

TheWolverineorigins flick latterly made the jump into my top three simply because ofthe dawdler that was released two weeks ago . I ’m a vast Gambit rooter and seeing some amazing aspect with him made me super excited for the film . The caveat to this is that if I find out Gambit does not have his Cajun accent in the film - then this movie will no longer by feature in my list .

Knowing movie

We know very little about James Cameron’sAvatarand we ’ve seen even less so it ’s very difficult to gauge where it should rate but I have it in there anyways because of the hype of the film , the screwball technology being employed to produce it , and the fact that it ’s Cameron ’s babe . I also thrust in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus for the simple fact that it is Heath Ledger ’s last cinema ever and the casting addition that were made to fill in Ledger ’s part in the plastic film were pretty astonishing .

For fun , I also threw inG.I. Joeas my last choice even though we ’ve not realize any veridical footage and there is some disconfirming press surrounding some pre - screenings of the prevue for the film .
