Screen Rant : Prior to joiningDead Boy Detectives , what did your comic Good Book experience count like ?
Jenn Lyon : My chum call for comics when I was little , we pass time in risible Christian Bible memory board . He was very [ much into ] Spider - Man , Superman , and Fantastic Four . Creating The Look For Esther Finch On Dead Boy Detectives

Jenn Lyon : Kelli Dunsmore , our costume designer . was so brilliant . We came in and she had these mood boards up there - because this globe for her , she was like Vivienne Westwood mix in with God mixed with current style . She just had all these looks for everybody and they made that coat . They made the fur for the coat because they had this coating that was like all - fur , - we call it the Beast - and it was so hot . I ’m a sweaty person and I was like , ' I ca n’t do it ! ' So they put the pelt - apprehension from that onto this camel pelage .
Once we put it on and she pass on me the cane , I was just like , ' Oh , this boron — h ! ' I was so emotional and she ’s a genius . , [ the looks for ] the Cat King , the Night Nurse , from the fastidious to the sexual grease , I was floored by her . We had the best meter in fitting and usually you go to adjustment to cry and feel bad about yourself . But with these fitting , we had the best clock time , we ’d listen to hip record hop and march around .

What was the experience like doing the action turn on this show ? I assume it is a combination of practical and VFX work .
Jenn Lyon : Well , like in the Cat King scenery in rehearsal , they ’d be like , ' Okay , and then you ’re pass him . Where do you think you need to move ? Then we need to kill him down here , so we need to get down here finally . ' But then you do n’t fritter the actual choking moment until you get to that moment and then they ’re like , ' Okay , hold your hands here . Okay , move your head here . Okay , slightly to the left . Make certain the light is equal your eye , ' and then you hold a minute , and then he would vanish from it .
Then they ’d get a fresh home plate of you just deem your hands . so that they can do it later . It ’s very expert and Kassius [ Nelson , who plays Crystal Palace ] and I ’s engagement in the Wood at nighttime , we had big stunt dry run and we did lots of it . We were taking the lick , the rush and falling on the ground and slamming her head into the solid ground . She was pull my hair and that ’s like stage - combat stuff , which is fun and chilling . But then in full term of dissemble there ’s a giant mushroom-shaped cloud growing out of the priming coat behind you , you just fetch ta use your vision ! [ laughs ] But there ’s a great tantrum in the stopping point , where I go to choke her , and she is up on ropes .
